A proud Flint, Michigan native, August grew up knowing that being average was never an option. Raised by Willie and Beverly Wallace, she credits her parents with instilling the confidence, discipline, morals and determination that continue to shape her life and career.

After graduating from Flint Southwestern Academy, August continued her education at Northwood University–Midland, where she studied Entertainment, Sports & Promotion Management. It was during college that she realized radio wasn’t simply a career choice it was her calling. She began her radio career as an intern and worked her way through the industry, building a career fueled by her love for R&B, her passion for her hometown and her connection with listeners.

Today, August is the Program Director and Midday Personality at WDZZ (Z92.7), while also serving as Operations Manager for Cumulus Media–Flint. With 20 years of experience in the radio industry, she brings a unique perspective to the microphone combining her experience as a programmer, leader and on-air personality with the authenticity and energy that have made her a recognizable voice in the Flint community.

Beyond the studio, August is passionate about giving back. She is a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society and other community initiatives. Through her work in radio and her involvement throughout Flint, August strives to use her platform to make a positive impact, inspire others and be a voice of encouragement especially for young women.

For August, radio is more than a career. It’s a passion, a purpose and a lifelong connection to the community she calls home.
